Blast is the BBC's youth creativity portal. We offer a unique combination of online, television, radio and UK-wide events schedule developed specially for 13 – 19 year olds. This combination of media and activities helps young people across the UK to feel confident and skilled in developing their creative ideas.
BBC Blast is currently on a UK-wide Tour, offering free workshops with professional facilitators in everything from radio production to street dance. Workshops can be pre-booked by individuals or larger groups as well as operating on a drop-in basis. Details of Tour venues and workshops can be found on our website.
Content from the Tour is uploaded to the website that operates as a showcase and development space for further work. Whether your young people are into film, music, art, dance or creative writing, the online site offers masterclasses and advice as well as the opportunity to get peer-feedback and showcase your work. Work from all disciplines is also put forward for showcasing on BBC2 during the BBC Blast autumn season.
The Blast Tour runs throughout the UK between April - November 2007 and London events are: July 18th-22nd at the Serpentine in Hyde Park and September 9th - 18th at the South Bank.
